It is late September and passionate motor riders are gathred in Copenhagen as well as in other cities around the world to participate in “The Distinguished Gentleman´s Ride 2017” (DGR). Gentlefolk in suits rides there bikes for a purpose. The purpose is to put focus on prostate cancer but also to fundraise to do research in prostate cancer in order to support mens health.
Haven is a festival for senses which mixes art, music, food and beer. A arctic experiment which combines ingredients for senses. I had the pleasure of being invited to photograph and document the event doing the two days in August where it took place.
Since last summer I had the idea to make a serie about people with sunglasses. At that time I didn’t know which media I would use for my project. In spring 2017 my DSLR stopped working and I started to look into Canons SLR which can adapt modern EF lenses. I bought a Canon EOS 650 second hand and from that moment I knew that my project would come to life with film roll instead of DSLR.
I planed to shoot this film roll with high sun to make the expression of summer. I choose random people on the streets of Copenhagen to create a randomness though out the serie. I tried to use different places with different settings as background to create variation. My first idea about aperture was to keep it as open as possible but unfortunately my first attempt of fast exposures came out with disturbing results on a “test roll”. Therefore I kept the shutter speed below 1/1000-1500s which resulted in a less shallow depth of field than I attended for this project.
I have been using the Kodak Porta 160 because of the smooth natural skin tones. For me it was the perfect choice combined with Canon EOS 650 and Canon 50 f/1.2.

46 years old and still rocking his skatebord with style. Tony Hawk And his Crew showed how to fly high with both old-school tricks and attitude. Make sure to go and see Tony hawk and his friends in Europe doing the “European Vacation Tour 2015” .
Tony Hawk and his crew will continue the tour by visiting Malaga, Spain – July the 19th, -Munich, Germany – July 22nd. and, -Prague, Czech Republic – July the 25th.
This series has been shot with an 17-40 mm f/4.0. Why?, because I needed the wide-angle to frame the Skate crew without cutting too much off the action.
Cherry blossom in Copenhagen, has become a instagram highlight in April. I went to one of the most visited places for experiencing it. From browsing through instagram-pictures I have discovered that this place has been more crowded this week than the past years. I decided to experience the spring event at “Bispebjerg kirkegård” early in the morning, hoping to shoot clean pictures with less people on it.
Despite the great hype this event has caused, I definitely recommend to go to places with cherry blossom when it is all in bloom.
